I could go on and on about being from a family of photographers and musicians, all my fine art photography teachers, all the great photographers I assisted and am influenced by, and how I've slowly adapted to digital photography to find it doesn't really matter if it's film or digital, it's the moment and the memory that counts. I remember being home alone in Fullerton, California as an 8 or 9 year old kid and often getting into a dresser full old family photos that had me laughing and crying all at once. It wasn't until I was 14 that my brother Dennis gave me his old Pentax H1a and taught me the basics of photography, but I really think it was the home alone time with the old family photos that made photography the focus of my life. I love being given an assignment no matter what it is, and I love photographing my friends and family and what ever else enters my vision. It's a mission of mine to always find the natural light and if I don't add just a enough to keep it real. I want the people who I photograph to love the way they look. I truly believe that being a photographer has helped to keep me present in my life.
